The Rhône Valley is planted with a rich array of varietals including Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Clairette, to name but a few. The Brotte Wine Museum takes a closer look at these varietals to provide visitors with a better understanding of their history, characteristics and the qualities they impart to the wine.  In Châteauneuf-du-Pape no less than 13 different varietals are permitted in the blend! This museum reveals the legacy and fascinating history of this wine region, whose wines were enjoyed by the Popes who settled in Avignon in the 13th century.

The cultivation of the vine follows the rhythm of the seasons. From pruning in winter to harvesting in autumn, the wine producer strives to ensure the trouble-free development of the vine throughout the growing cycle. There are many different growing techniques used which depend greatly on the terroir, the age of the vine and the characteristics of the varietal. The Brotte Wine Museum unravels the mysteries of winegrowing with a particular focus on the harvest.
